Samantha Hoffman Returns To 'Temptation Island' — Why Is She Known As 'Shower Girl'?
Samantha Hoffman, who makes a triumphant return on Season 4 of "Temptation Island," was involved in one of the most scandalous moments of Season 2.
When Samantha Hoffman waltzes into a party at the men's villa on Season 4, Episode 6 of "Temptation Island," there's instant recognition from some of the men.
"I'm the shower girl," she laughingly admits after they ID her as a past single on "Temptation Island."
But for those watching Season 4 without seeing past episodes (what are you waiting for, guys?!), this might be a confusing moment. Who exactly is Samantha, and what does "shower girl" mean?
Who Is Samantha Hoffman?
Samantha Hoffman is one of the singles from "Temptation Island" Season 2. She's a flight attendant who was 29 when she first came on the show — and she had just gotten out of an eight-year relationship at the time. Thus, she was looking for a new chance at love, as well as an opportunity to have fun.
She then became embroiled in one of the most controversial and steamiest scenes in "Temptation Island" history. She connected quickly with David Benavidez and after a party, the two showered together (hence the "shower girl" comment!). But then another single, Payton Burgess got involved, sharing a kiss with David. What followed was what some viewers dubbed "a threesome."
Samantha didn't last much longer on the island — David sent her home afterward. He ultimately ended up leaving the island with another single, Toneta Morgan. However, by the time the reunion rolled around, David and Toneta were a thing of the past and he was back together with girlfriend Kate Griffith. The two stayed together even after Samantha revealed she had reconnected with David after they'd left the island and had sex with him.
When asked if Kate ever reached out to her, Samantha told USA Insider, "She actually blocked me. I'm guessing it was David's influence, but no, she had not at all. I told her to contact me if she needed anything more, but she never did."
While Samantha has no desire to talk to David again, she formed a tight bond with the other singles on her season.
"I talk to everyone still pretty much. All the girls, we're all still very close. I actually just bought a house, and they sent me a housewarming gift, so I'm still really close to all the girls. We just went on to trip to Miami last July, and we're planning another trip this year. Usually about nine or 10 of us that will go, so that's awesome," she said.
But will she make the same connections this season on "Temptation Island"? Or will she potentially fall in love? We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
