Leah and Miguel from Love Island USA Talk Future Plans & New Relationship
While finding love in the Love Island USA villa can be challenging, Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi are excited for their future.
Miguel Harichi's dramatic entrance as a bombshell on Love Island USA Season 6 captured Leah Kateb's heart and set the stage for a thrilling new chapter. After finishing a solid second in the finale, the couple is ready to take their romance from the Fiji villa to real life. But what will that look like?
As the season wrapped up with many twists and turns for the Islanders in Casa Amor and beyond, Miguel reflected on his journey in the villa. In an interview with USA Insider, he shared two pivotal moments when he knew he had fallen for Leah. The couple is excited about their plans, which include visiting Universal Studios and getting acquainted with Leah's farm animals.
What are Leah and Miguel's Future Plans?
Now that he’s out of the villa, Miguel is looking forward to new adventures with Leah.
“I’m definitely going to be going over to L.A. after this. I’m probably going to spend a couple of months there. And that’s where she’s based as well," he said. "So she wants to show me around her sides of LA and show me her version of it. She wants to take me to her farm, see her animals and stuff, which I’m looking forward to. She knows all the dopest restaurants and whatnot. So I feel like we’ve got some good things planned.”

He added: “We are also talking about going over to Epcot in Disney World, I think. I'm looking forward to that. Just doing fun stuff, so whether it be going to Six Flags, amusement parks, Disneyland, Universal Studios, I'm with it all. So, I feel like we're just going to have a bunch of fun while I'm out there.”
Some of the cast members from Love Island USA Season 6 were spotted visiting Universal Studios Hollywood, including Serena Page, Kordell Beckham, Rob Rausch, and more. While there, they were greeted by fans and given the opportunity to experience attractions as part of a VIP tour. The fact that Miguel was not there during this journey does not change the fact that he is hoping that he will be able to travel with Leah when he arrives in the United States. Sadly, at the moment, long distance kept him from joining in on the fun.
Miguel Reveals When he Realized he had Feelings for Leah
Miguel reflected on the pivotal moments that made him realize his deep connection with Leah.
“I think it was after the movie night; there were two moments. The first, coming back from Casa, like how quickly my head spun back, and I just remembered everything that we were, the conversation we had before going into Casa, and like the vibe we had, I was like, I knew instantly that that's something different, and that's something I want to nurture. After movie night, that was very emotional, and I think that was the most emotional point for me,” he explained.
Miguel opened up about the challenges he faced in navigating his feelings for Leah. He acknowledged the internal struggle he experienced, recognizing traits in her that he would typically avoid. Confronted with the unique environment of Love Island USA, he realized the importance of addressing these issues head-on.
“I was definitely in my head. I saw traits in her that I would tend to avoid. And being in an environment without avoiding it, you've got to face it," he said. "You've got to, you know, either communicate how you're feeling or just bury yourself in frustration. I took a moment. I tried to find the right words to express what I was feeling at that moment in time whilst also being mindful and respectful at the growth that she had shown prior to that movie night because I know she'd been through a lot.”
Miguel sums up his Love Island USA experience
Miguel shared how his experience with Leah helped him grow emotionally.
“I've learned how to be a bit more vulnerable, I feel," he confessed I think going in, and I said it in my little speech, in the past, I have been defensive. I definitely have, you know, I guess avoided commitments when I saw things go in stronger, especially when I saw them go stronger from one end as opposed to mine. I think it may be a fear, but being in the villa and having to really just accept everything and just be honest, the only thing I could do was be transparent about how I'm feeling.”
Because he was feeling better emotionally, Miguel learned more about what it takes to make real bonds in the house. His journey with Leah showed how truth and openness can make a relationship stronger, even in the most difficult situations. As a result of these observations, he gave future Islanders advice.
Miguel's advice for future Islanders is simple but profound: “Don't go in with too much expectation because when you expect, sometimes you'll get the opposite, which could hurt you. Go in clear-minded, go in calm. Be respectful and be transparent about everything. If you can do that, it'll help you a hell of a lot more in the long run than if you're still trying to, you know, beat around the bush. So stay transparent about how hard it is, but be respectful.”
