Kevin Owens Will Be Making Acting Debut In Canadian TV Show, 'Bon Matin Chuck'

Former Universal Champion Kevin Owens confirmed on Twitter that he will be making his acting debut on a French-Canadian television show called “Bon Matin, Chuck.” The show French-language drama/comedy, set in Quebec, translates to “Good Morning, Chuck” in English. The director of the show, Jean-Francois Rivard and two producers, who are apparently big wrestling fans, requested Owens himself for the role. 

The Prizefighter is currently off TV with a sprained MCL, which he suffered at a live event earlier this month, but reports indicate that his scenes have already been filled. The show’s official website says that the plot revolves around a guy named Chuck whose reputation is ruined by a scandal. He “retires to a recovery home” to convince his wife he is working on his issues, but is just a “party guy.”

“What an honor for me to be part of this project, if only for a few minutes. A memorable experience with a fantastic gang,” Owens wrote in French on Twitter. The Canadian superstar was born in Quebec and is fluent in the language. The series is scheduled to air next year on Crave, a Canadian streaming service. 

The former NXT Champion is great on the mic, so it only makes sense that he brings some of that talent with him into the acting world. As for an in-ring return, Owens is currently rehabbing his knee at the WWE Performance Center, but a timetable for recovery is unknown. His last televised match was on the Sept. 30 episode of SmackDown where he teamed with Johnny Gargano and Drew McIntyre to defeat Austin Theory and The Alpha Academy. It is currently unknown if Owens will be back in time for Survivor Series.
