'You Will Be Forced to Respect Me': Logan Paul Oozes Confidence Ahead Of Crown Jewel
With each passing day, Logan Paul makes sure that Roman Reigns will face his toughest challenge yet
Nov. 5. It’s a date that has been drilled into our collective minds. That’s when Crown Jewel will take place, headlined by a massive main event: Roman Reigns defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul.
When the match was announced, the reaction from the WWE Universe was a mix of excitement and disbelief. Many fans were excited at the prospect of the cocky Paul rising up and challenging Reigns, but many shared the sentiment that the social media superstar was not ready for the spotlight. After all, Logan Paul’s pro wrestling career consists of just two actual matches. At Crown Jewel, he jumps the line and tangles with WWE’s greatest Superstar.
For the past month, Logan Paul has seemingly been undeterred in achieving his goal of dethroning Roman Reigns. In a recent interview with Britain-based Verge Magazine, he recently discussed Crown Jewel, his goals, and how his training is going. The WWE Universe shouldn’t be surprised that Paul is taking his newfound career very, very seriously. His main goal is to not only win the title, but to get respect from, well, everyone.
“If the WWE fans don’t already respect me — after Crown Jewel, you will be forced to respect me. You might not like me, I might not be your favorite wrestler, but you will have to respect what I can do in that ring, and that’s my goal,” he said.

What Logan Paul has shown from day one is that he’s not taking his newfound WWE career lightly. Not only has he shown a natural talent for competing inside the squared circle, but he has also shown a commitment to constant improvement through constant in-ring training.
“The six-pack is coming,” he said. "The flips are getting easier. It’s all good. I’m working my ass off, man. I don’t think my hard work can be underestimated and I’m giving it my all for this match because this is it. This is an opportunity to make history, to take the title from the best, right off the rip. This has not been done before, but I’m going to do it because it’s what I do.”
Paul already has shown off his impressive physique and wrestling ability, and from the sound of it, he’s going to be in even better shape at Crown Jewel. Add in the result of constant training at the WWE Performance Center, and well, he seems miles more capable of taking home the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship than he did a month ago.
Of course, Paul has gained notoriety for challenging opponents who, at first, seem head and shoulders above him in every possible way. In 2021, he made headlines worldwide when he challenged — and then fought — Floyd “Money” Mayweather. The two men went the distance in an exhibition boxing match that showed the world that maybe Paul wasn't the perennial underdog everyone thought he was.
Paul is no stranger to the situation he got himself into at Crown Jewel, and his confidence in taking down Roman Reigns sure seems like it’s at an all-time high.
“This is just another one of those circumstances where I took on the biggest [expletive] I could find, and I’m going to chop him at the knees, take him down, take his titles,” he said. “He’s the Tribal Chief? I’m the Tribal Thief. I’m stealing this match and becoming the face of the WWE. Run it back. Clip it. Put it on ESPN.”
With Logan Paul putting in the maximum amount of effort to ensure he’s prepared for Crown Jewel, it begs the question: Is Roman Reigns putting in the same effort? Or does Roman Reigns not need to put in the effort? After all, he is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for a reason. All questions will be answered soon enough.
Crown Jewel airs on Peacock on Saturday, Nov. 5.
