The Rock Pays For Past Mistakes In Hawaii By ... Buying Hundreds Of Dollars' Worth Of Snickers?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has made headlines once again, but the WWE Universe may be let down by this latest news, as it’s not at all WrestleMania-related.

In an Instagram post earlier this week, the Great One revealed that he recently bought every single Snickers bar at a Hawaiian 7-Eleven, ringing up a bill that was nearly $300 in the process.

No, the Rock isn’t letting himself go and fattening up for his next Hollywood role, he’s simply right-ing a past wrongdoing. As it turns out, as a teen living in Hawaii, he frequently stole Snickers bars from that same 7-Eleven nearly every single day! Apparently, the Rock has felt guilt about this for some time now, and he finally decided to make amends in front of a shocked 7-Eleven worker and some surprised customers inside the store. His caption, accompanying photos of his venture, was refreshingly to-the-point, reading:

“Had to ‘right the wrong’ back home in Hawaii after all these years. Stealing Snickers + 7-11 = exorcizing old demons.”

Describing his family as “broke as hell,” the Rock revealed in an Instagram story that he used king-sized Snickers bar as a pre-workout boost every day when he was first getting into weightlifting as a teen. (While we can’t condone stealing, clearly the Rock’s strategy worked!)

In addition to finally atoning for his kleptomania as a 14-year-old, the Rock also decided to pick up the tab of every customer that was in the store, in addition to posing for some once-in-a-lifetime selfies, of course. “It was a lot of fun to take care of everybody who walked into 7-Eleven while I was there. Least I could do considering all the [expletive] I used to steal from here,” he said.

Clearly the Rock has felt some weight come off his shoulders this week. He even offered some words of advice in regards to what we can and cannot change.

“We can’t change the past and some of the dumb stuff we may have done, but every once in a while we can add a little redeeming grace note to that situation — and maybe put a big smile on some strangers’ faces,” he said in his Instagram story.

Will this act of redemption by the Rock cause a ripple effect throughout the world, inspiring other ex-candy stealers to follow in the Rock’s footsteps and make things right? That remains to be seen, but we’re crossing our fingers nonetheless.

Speaking of crossing our fingers, there’s still been next to zero news to report on the Rock making an appearance at next year’s WrestleMania. After he nearly broke the internet by declaring himself the true Head of the Table during an interview in early October, there hasn’t been any headway made on the Rock being involved in anything Roman Reigns or WWE-related.

Yet.

Maybe the Rock is simply “getting his house in order” by atoning for past mistakes before he puts his legacy on the line against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Maybe he is earning himself some karma points before he steps in the ring against the most dominant champion WWE has ever seen since ... well, the Rock himself.

There’s still plenty of time for the dream match of all dream matches to happen, and USA Insider will be atop the news — if it ever comes down the pipeline. To say that the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is without equal is an understatement; a match with the Rock is the logical next step for both men’s legacies. But the WWE Universe will cross that bridge when and if the time comes.
