For those who need a refresher on what the drama was between the exes: Cely and Johnny coupled up in Love Island USA Season 2. They got together early on and remained a couple until the season finale. Despite their romance and attraction, the two parted ways in January 2021 with announcements on their social media. Neither gave a reason for their split. But during the latest episode, Cely revealed that they broke up at Cheesecake Factory because Johnny wouldn’t pay for her nachos and then he went live on Instagram to talk about her.
But, despite the messy breakup, Cely shared with USA Insider, that she is happy to be back in the villa for a second shot at love.
“It was so surreal, you kind of have an experience like Love Island, and you think it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But being able to go back, it’s such a nostalgic feeling looking around the villa," she said, adding that it was like experiencing Deja vu. “It was so cool being here, and my ex isn’t here for a moment, and I was like, it’s really just me and my best friend in paradise."
Seeing Johnny again reminded Cely of what was, and now she can look to the future.
“I feel like because we met on Love Island, it was such a unique experience. There was a part of me that always really tried to hold onto that relationship and then once it was clear that it just wasn’t going to work out, I did my own thing leading up to Love Island Games. I dated here and there, but it really took a lot for me to ever want to date seriously again,” Celie explained.

When it comes down to love or money, Cely is sure of what she’s looking for. “Love Island gave me my last serious relationship, so who’s to say that they can’t do it again. I’m going two for two, let me come out of this with a relationship again, she said.
“I want a man so bad, I really want to find love, and winning would just be a nice added bonus.”
Will Cely and Johnny rekindle things? Or will she find love elsewhere as the season unfolds?
