"Burn Notice" ended almost 10 years ago. What has the cast been up to since their last adventure?
It’s been almost 10 years since “Burn Notice” aired its final episode, but fans are just as hopeful as ever that they haven’t seen the last of Michael Westen and his intrepid group of super-spy friends.
As with any popular series, there is always hope for a reunion or revival, but only if everyone is available. This begs the question: What has the cast of the show been up to since their last adventure? Fortunately for them, the show’s popularity allowed everyone to go on to have lucrative careers after “Burn Notice.”
To help keep track, below is a rundown of what everyone has been up to since the show ended.
Jeffrey Donovan
In addition to starring alongside Angelina Jolie in “Changeling” during the show, Donovan went on to headline more TV shows after "Burn Notice" was done. In 2015 he had a meaty role in Season 2 of “Fargo” as Dodd Gerhardt. He also had roles in movies like “LBJ,” “Shot Caller,” and both “Sicario” films before going on to play Charlie Haverford in the Hulu original series “Shut Eye.” He also lent his voice to animated shows like “Wonder Woman: Bloodlines” as well as “Invincible.”

However, his biggest role since “Burn Notice” came earlier this year on the revival of “Law & Order,” where he plays Detective Frank Cosgove. As a result, he’s pretty busy in New York City working on that show. However, stars of the hit police drama have managed to go on to film a lot of cool projects over the years without missing a beat on the show. So, anything is possible!
Gabrielle Anwar
Before landing her role on “Burn Notice” as the bomb-loving Fiona Glenanne, Anwar was known for movies like “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken” and dancing an impressive tango with Al Pacino in “Scent of a Woman.”
Still, her longest role to date remains the hit spy series. Since the show ended, she had a recurring role on “Once Upon a Time,” but she hasn’t done much else on-camera since. However, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t kept busy. Anwar has adult children who she regularly dotes on by way of her social media. She is also married to philanthropist Shareef Malnik and helps him with some of his endeavors, including work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Bruce Campbell
Perhaps the most recognizable name in show business prior to being cast as former Navy SEAL Sam Axe on the show, Bruce Campbell was already a very popular icon in the horror and B-movie genre thanks to his role as Ash Williams in the “Evil Dead” franchise from director (and longtime friend) Sam Rami.
After “Burn Notice” ended, Campbell had a handful of guest-starring spots on various TV shows, including joining his buddy, Jeffrey Donovan, on “Fargo.” However, his biggest role since came in 2015 when he reprised his role as Ash once again for a comedy/horror TV series “Ash vs Evil Dead.” That show lasted for three terrifically weird seasons before finally ending its run.
Marvel fans may have noticed Campbell guest star in his buddy Sam Rami’s latest project, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” as the now-famous Pizza Poppa.
Sharon Gless
Giving Campbell a run for his pre- "Burn Notice” fame money is, of course, the incomparable Sharon Gless, better known as one-half of the famous female detective duo “Cagney & Lacey.”
Since “Burn Notice” ended, Gless has kept busy with guest-starring roles on many popular shows like “Rizzoli & Isles,” “The Exorcist,” and “Casualty.” In 2021, she released a memoir hilariously titled “Apparently, There Were Complaints” where she got brutally honest about her career, complicated family life, and past struggles with alcoholism.
Coby Bell
The actor joined the show later in its run as a spy named Michael, and the gang was forced to burn. Despite being new, he quickly became a regular character on the show before becoming a full-fledged member of the Miami spy crew.
After the show, he’s remained incredibly busy. He starred as Jason Pitts on the TV series “The Game” for 147 episodes, more than double his run on “Burn Notice.” Bell didn’t stop there. He went on to have recurring roles on shows like “The Gifted” and “SEAL Team” and voiced the recurring antagonist Conway Stern on “Archer.”
Today, he stars alongside Jared Padalecki as Larry James on the remake of “Walker Texas Ranger” titled simply “Walker.”
