Suits Star Patrick J. Adams Teases a Reunion Movie: "I Think It Is Possible"

Suits fans are fired up about the possibility of a reunion movie featuring the original cast. Arguably one of the most beloved TV series of the past decade, the USA Network original series broke streaming records in 2023, and viewers have not stopped clamoring for more. The show creators answered the call with Suits: L.A., a spin-off pilot episode that started filming in April. And now, there just might be a movie on the table — though there are no official plans yet.

During the recent ATX TV Festival, the cast reunited to reminisce over favorite memories and discuss the show’s resurgence. But there was a burning question on everyone’s mind, and the first fan inquiry of the event cut to the chase: Will there be a Suits reunion movie?

It’s in the realm of possibility, said star Patrick J. Adams, who was joined by Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Amanda Schull, Abigail Spencer, and executive Jeff Wachtel on the panel.

“I am a person of no power or authority,” said the humble Adams, who played series star Mike Ross for all nine seasons, from 2011 to 2019. “But obviously,” There’s a Suits: L.A. show that is being made. That is the focus of Aaron, I think he would agree,” he said, referring to Aaron Korsh, the show’s creator and mastermind behind the Suits: L.A. spinoff.

He continued: “But it’s definitely something he’s interested in doing, in trying to get the band back together. So it depends on a million things if that can happen, but is it possible? I think it is possible.”

When asked how other cast members felt about a movie, Adams replied, “The band is down to get together." 

The band certainly loves to reunite, with cast members first appearing in two ads played during the Super Bowl and then as presenters at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. A hotly anticipated rewatch podcast, “Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast,” is up next, where Rafferty and Adams will watch the series for the first time and dish on their favorite episodes, including the behind-the-scenes shenanigans.

The Suits crew is already dropping a few bombshells. During the ATX TV Festival panel, it was revealed that Rafferty’s character Donna — an integral part of the Suits legal team — was not expected to be a series regular when they shot the pilot episode. But that changed when it became clear while filming that the chemistry between Donna, Mike, and Harvey was off the charts, remembered Jeff Wachtel, former president of USA Network via Deadline.

“They’re talking and she just is looking from one to the other and you just feel the glue,” he said. “Like I just want to hang out with these people. So it’s just wonderful how things can come together in unexpected ways.”

Fingers crossed the Suits movie comes together in unexpected ways, too.
