Lex Scott Davis Says Cameos From Original Cast on Suits: L.A. is "Not Impossible"
Actress Lex Scott Davis hinted that original Suits cast members could reprise their roles in Suits: L.A.
The original Suits ran for nine seasons and 134 episodes, so you can get into a long, entertaining relationship with it, which is what most of us did last year as we accelerated into full-on binge territory. The New York-based legal drama, which originally aired on the USA Network from 2011 to 2019, broke the U.S. streaming record in 2023 and inspired Universal to give a pilot order to the upcoming spin-off, Suits: L.A.
The new L.A. location brings an all-new cast, including Lex Scott Davis (The L Word: Generation Q, Nya), Stephen Amell (Arrow, Heels), and Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead), as well as a new entertainment law firm, Black Lane Law. This time, we’ll see what high-stakes wheeling and dealing looks like on the West Coast.

What could that entail? Davis, who will play rising star attorney Erica Rollins in Suits: L.A., dropped a few hints last week to People when she attended the Essence Black Women in Hollywood event. Of all the show news that Davis shared on the carpet, perhaps the most exciting for longtime fans is speculation that some original characters could pop up in the new series
Will the any original cast members appear in Suits: L.A.?
Nothing is confirmed so far. The actress told People that “maybe” there would be “some sort of rollover from the original cast.”
“It's not impossible,” she said. “I would love that myself if there was, but we'll see. You never know.”
Several original cast members have hinted that they’d love to reprise their roles. There’s quite a vast pool of contenders, and we admit, it’s fun to speculate. The buzz about the spinoff reached a fever pitch among fans after Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht, and Patrick J. Adams reunited on stage at the 2024 Golden Globes Ceremony to present the best drama series award to the Succession cast. Shortly after, the spinoff was announced on February 1, and fans couldn’t help but notice original cast members in two memorable ads — for T-Mobile and e.l.f. cosmetics — that aired during the 2024 Super Bowl, further fueling rumors that some of the OG's might make cameo appearances in the spinoff.
What else do we know about Suits: L.A.?
Davis confirmed to People that they’ll begin shooting the pilot script next month, but no concrete details about future episodes are available.
“There is a pilot script, and that's what we'll be filming in April,” Davis stated, adding, "Fingers crossed that the pilot gets a series order. But, I'm pretty excited. Pretty sure we'll get our series order, for sure."
The new show will follow Ted Black (played by Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who must leave everything he knows and loves behind to reinvent himself in the City of Angels. That involves representing the most powerful clients in L.A. Stuart Lane (played by McDermott) is reportedly an old friend of Black's who had founded the LA-based law firm Black Lane Law 15 years before.
Aaron Korsh, the original creator of Suits, is an executive producer and will likely bring the same feel to Suits: L.A.
While we wait for Suits: L.A. to air on NBC, you can catch every episode of the original Suits on Peacock now.
