What Acting Advice Did The Rock Give The Miz?
The Miz revealed that he asked The People's Champ for some acting advice before he starred in his first movie.
The WWE to Hollywood pipeline is a very real phenomenon that has produced one of the most recognizable actors of all-time, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. At one point, The Rock was the highest paid actor in the world and has graced the No. 1 spot in the box office as recently as October of this year with his new hit film, “Black Adam.” WWE Superstars from John Cena to Andre The Giant have appeared on the silver screen, but only one that we know of has ever used his WWE connections to call up The Rock and ask for some acting advice: The Miz.
The self-proclaimed A-Lister joined “The Office” star Brian Baumgartner’s podcast, “Off The Beat,” where he revealed that he called The Rock and asked him for some acting advice before he starred in his first movie, “The Marine 3: Homefront.”
"I'll never forget, I actually called The Rock. I texted him and I said, 'Hey, man, I'm about to star in my first movie, getting ready to do my first scene. Is there any advice you can give me?'" he said.
Being one of the busiest people in the world, The Rock didn’t answer the call. He did, however, call The Miz back and shared a few tips with his former rival. The Rock’s biggest piece of advice: Don’t look at the camera!
“You can't look at the [lens], and you have to be normal and natural when it's action and you have to just make it feel [natural]," The People’s Champ explained to The Miz.
The Miz adhered to The Rock’s advice because he would go on from there to star in more than half a dozen films and appear on various other television shows. Some of the money he made from those acting appearances — well that’s in Dexter Lumis’ hands now after the latest developments in the rivalry between the two.
Last Monday night on RAW, The Miz interrupted Lumis and Gargano’s holiday giveaway and agreed to face Lumis in a ladder match for his money.
