What We Want To See In The New Season Of 'Temptation Island'
Host Mark L. Walberg recently announced Season 5 of "Temptation Island" is filming.
Just last week, Mark L. Walberg revealed the news we've been waiting for.
“What’s happening, Tempties? It’s Mark Walberg,” he said in a video. “Guess where I am? That’s right, Season 5 is happening right now as we speak. Here I am, on ‘Temptation Island.’ We’re just getting started. It’s going to be great. So, I’m glad you’re here. I’ll try to give you as many sneak peeks as I can as long as they let me.”
That's right: "Temptation Island" Season 5 is filming right now. We're beyond excited to see more of the wild hookups, shocking bonfire scenes, and, of course, emotional self-growth journeys that occur on "Temptation Island," as four couples live apart from each other in villas with sexy singles to test their relationship's strength. Here's what we really want to see more of this upcoming season in particular, though.
Couples With Lots Of History
"Temptation Island" has featured both couples with 10 years of history and those who have only been together for just over a year. The one thing they have in common? Their relationship is at a crossroads. In general, we're more invested when it's obvious why these couples fell in love in the first place, and if we feel their relationship could survive the difficult test that is "Temptation Island." We want to root for them to make it work!
Sweet Friendship Moments
Some of our favorite relationships that have come out of "Temptation Island" aren't the established couples or the romances that arise with the singles. We actually often love the friendships just as much! Consider Iris Jardiel and Gillian Lieberman from Season 4. While Iris wasn't always sure after the show her relationship with fiancé Luke would last, it's been obvious from their social media that their friendship definitely will. We also loved the support all the ladies from that season showed each other as they dealt with difficult bonfire revelations.
Similarly, we love the bond that's sprung up between Kaci Cambell from Season 1 and Erin Smith from Season 3 — the two even host their own podcast, "It's Tempting," together. We love to see how the unique circumstances from "Temptation Island" lead to these tight friendships.
Spicy Bonfire Moments
Of course, as much as we love to root for couples and friendships, we'll admit it: We also enjoy a good bonfire scene.

On "Temptation Island," the couples regularly get together with host Mark L. Walberg at a bonfire to see a clip of what their significant other has been doing on the island. Usually, these clips aren't exactly innocent, which leads to plenty of drama as people realize they don't know their partner as well as they thought they did.
More Shots Of The Villas And Unique Island Dates
Similarly, part of the appeal of "Temptation Island" is that contestants are on a stunning island. We love to see the gorgeous villas the groups live in, which are surrounded by greenery, boast beautiful pools, and have plenty of great lounging areas in and around the home. Sue us: We like checking out the real estate!
We also love to see the different dates people get to experience on "Temptation Island." At home, we just go to dinner and a movie. On "Temptation Island," first dates include parasailing, scaling waterfalls, surfing, and picnics with cliffside views. It's the perfect recipe for romance.
More Mark L. Walberg
There's one consistent across all seasons of "Temptation Island," and for good reason. Mark L. Walberg is always the host.
Mark truly brings something special to the table as a host. Not only does he welcome the couples and walk them through the rules of the game, but he also acts as an advisor to the cast, offering sage advice and doling out tough love when necessary. Mark makes sure each person is inspired to continue on a journey of self-growth and really do what's best for them when the experiment ends.
Basically, everyone needs a Mark from time to time.
"My intention is that everybody leaves the show in a better place than when they came. They're not necessarily together. I don't care if they're together or not. That's not my goal. It's not my goal to break anybody up, but it's also not my goal to fight for something that may not be good," Mark told USA Insider in an interview. "So the first thing I do is make an intention that I already love them before they arrive, so that when they arrive, I'm just like, 'I'm here for you, and I can be here for you without any judgment of what you've done or thinking what your value system is."
