Watch Blake Shelton And Kane Brown's Impromptu 'Ol' Red' Duet Before Gwen Stefani Took The Stage

Blake Shelton and Kane Brown sang an impromptu duet of Shelton's hit song “Ol' Red," which inspired the name of his chain of bars that plays home to USA Network's “Barmageddon." And trust us when we say you won't be able to get it out of your head after listening.

Shelton and Brown were both in attendance at an intimate, backyard benefit concert in Scottsdale, Arizona, over the weekend dubbed the “Smoke And Strings Pre-Super Bowl Party.” Shelton performed to a small, outdoor crowd of more than 250 people to benefit Treasure House, a living community for “individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities,” according to its website. 

At one point in the show, Shelton called upon his friend and former “Barmageddon” rival, Brown, to join him on stage for a duet of “Ol' Red,” which Brown sometimes covers in his headlining act when he performs live. The moment was captured by former TV personality Tara Hitchcock, who posted the thrilling moment to social media.

“Were you born yet when I put this song out?” Shelton joked before they got into it.

Brown, who was born nine years before the song came out in 2002 (back when Shelton sported a heroic mullet), noted he was indeed alive before some harsh gusts of Arizona wind almost took out the stage they were sitting on. Fortunately, as people frantically worked to weatherproof the stage, Shelton flexed his showmanship skills and joked with the crowd that any injury he received would not only be expensive but come right out of the funds raised by the benefit. 

In reality, though, the two country stars were undeterred and played through, letting their voices ring out above the incredibly windy night. 

Despite beating him thoroughly on “Barmageddon,” Brown ended the impromptu performance by showing the crowd just how much he looks up to Shelton, saying the duet was officially an item he could “check” off his bucket list. 

Brown wasn’t the only surprise duet partner Shelton had that night. He also called for his wife (better known as his fellow “Barmageddon” competitor), Gwen Stefani, to join him up on stage where they sang their hit song, “Happy Anywhere.”

“This is my wife. We met on our reality show,” Shelton said as Stefani made her way across the backyard to the stage. “This is Gwen Stefani everybody — Gwen Shelton!” 

Hitchcock also captured a little bit of their performance. When it was all said and done, Treasure House shared on Twitter that the event raised more than $700,000 for the charity thanks in large part to Shelton and his friends donating their time and music to the cause.
