It's turkey time, which means it's time to find something you and the whole family can watch while you digest your Thanksgiving feast.

By Tyler McCarthy

The holidays are upon us, and that means it’s time to find TV shows you can stream that’ll appease even the pickiest of your relatives.

Whether you’re traveling or hosting this Thanksgiving, there will inevitably be downtime where everyone gathers around the TV to digest food. So, if you’re too full to make small talk with your loved ones, it’s a good idea to throw something on the TV for everyone to enjoy. Fortunately, Peacock is here to offer up a myriad of shows that are fun, family-friendly and will keep you coming back for more episode after episode.

In addition to holiday staples like airing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade live as well as the FIFA World Cup and NFL, there are a host of series to appease relatives from all walks of life.

"Royal Pains"

Royal Pains Cast

Royal Pains” came to an end after eight seasons in 2016, so there’s no shortage of episodes for you and your family to dive into. The series follows an intrepid doctor named Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein). After being wrongfully blamed for the death of a patient who comes into his emergency room, Hank moves to the Hamptons and starts rubbing elbows with America’s rich and elite.

He soon becomes a reluctant concierge doctor who is constantly walking the line between doing good for people and doing well for himself. Alongside his brother and a close group of friends and colleagues, each episode sees the characters deal with new medical issues in the world of wealth and opulence.

"Snake In The Grass"

Game shows are a great way to bond families and “Snake In The Grass” has your typical game elements and then some. Each episode pits four survival experts against the elements in the rainforest as they are tasked with completing a series of challenges. The prize for each one is a clue that will help them figure out which person among them is secretly trying to sabotage the group. In the end, the Snake will be revealed, and if they’ve been found out by the others, they split the prize cash. If not, it all goes home with the Snake.

You and your family will have a ball watching the challenges unfold and placing your bets on who the snake in the grass is with each new episode. At the very least, you’ll find out who is the most cunning at your Thanksgiving table.

"Monk"

If your family loves unconventional detective shows, it doesn’t get better than “Monk.”

The show follows a brilliant former detective who has a nervous breakdown following the tragic death of his wife. Although the trauma has worsened his obsessive-compulsive disorder, Adrian Monk gets back out into the world with the help of some close friends and begins working as a private investigator while still trying to track down his wife’s killer

While the premise of the show sounds grim, “Monk” can be a surprisingly lighthearted watch that’s fun for the whole family.

"Young Rock"

Who doesn’t love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson?

If you simply can’t get enough of him, perhaps your family will be into “Young Rock.” The show follows an adult Johnson running for President of the United States in 2032. Each episode sees him flashing back to his youth in a different interview to tell his life story. If you’re a WWE fan, you can expect a lot of golden-era Superstars to come to life on screen, all from the perspective of how Johnson rose to become the most electrifying man in sports entertainment and film stardom.

"Race For The Championship"

Maybe your family is full of NASCAR fans, maybe they’ve never watched a race in their life. Either way, the new USA Network original series “Race For The Championship” has something they’re bound to like.

Not only does it document the lives of racers during the highly competitive 2022 Cup Series Season, but it offers a lot of insight into their personal lives. Even people who aren’t interested in motorsports will find it interesting to see how professional athletes live their lives while maintaining relationships and parenting their kids. At the very least, it won’t take more than a single episode to get them curious about who ended up taking home the whole championship this year.

You can catch these shows and other USA Network originals on Peacock right now.
