WWE Superstar Dominik Mysterio Betrays Father Rey, Joins Judgement Day
Dominik had been growing upset at his dad, Rey Mysterio, for a while and it all came to a head with a turn to Judgement Day.
Over the last few weeks, WWE fans have witnessed cracks in the Mysterio family for the first time ever. Now, after Clash at the Castle, they're wondering if the Mysterios will ever be the same again.
WWE Universe was treated to a former tag team with Edge and Rey reuniting when they joined forces with Dominik to battle the Judgment Day.
The unlikely trio was functioning smoothly against their rivals until one month ago on RAW. As Edge and the Mysterios were fending off an attack from Judgment Day, Edge accidentally delivered a Spear to Dominik. Whether Dom was feeling jealous of the newly reformed relationship between his father and Edge, or truly didn’t believe that the Spear was accidental, fans sensed that he did not accept Edge’s apology and was holding a grudge against him and his father.
As the weeks rolled by, Dominik became more and more skeptical of Edge’s Spear being accidental and when it came time for Rey to pick a partner to face Judgment Day at Clash at the Castle, he picked Edge because of his experience. He assured his son and tag team partner that he only picked Edge because he needed a veteran, and not to worry about their relationship.
Cut to Clash at the Castle, Edge and Rey picked up a much-needed victory against their foes. Dominik hopped into the ring to celebrate with his father and friend, but suddenly and shockingly, kicked Edge below the belt, Clotheslined his father, and aligned himself with Judgment Day.
Dominik turning on his own dad and Edge will prove to be a turning point in his WWE career. He is finally breaking free from Rey and becoming his own man. Whether fans like the man he becomes or not, the Superstar emerged with Judgment Day on RAW and helped them attack his father to cement his new position on the dark side.
The WWE Universe needs to be ready for Dominik to get even darker and meaner now as the Judgment Day clouds his mind and forces him to continue carrying out attacks on his dad. Although his actions against Rey were despicable, the Judgment Day will allow Dom to grow and mature into his own WWE Superstar.
Fans should expect a very emotional father-son feud between Dom and Rey coming up soon and need to be paying close attention to the younger Mysterio's behavior in the upcoming weeks.
