'I'm Going To End You:' Seth Rollins And Cody Rhodes Brawl Ahead Of Their Hell In A Cell Match
Multiple referees and WWE officials had to intervene as Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes lost control during Monday Night Raw.
WWE Superstars Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes clashed once again on Monday Night Raw as their Hell in a Cell match creeps closer.
With Rhodes in the ring, Rollins appeared in the crowd, unleashing a tirade against his hated rival.
“I don’t like you. I don’t want you here. In six days, inside Hell in a Cell, I’m going to prey on your insecurities and I’m not just going to change you, Cody. I’m going to end you. And then we can all finally wake up from this ‘American Nightmare.’”
A visibly seething Rhodes then told his nemesis, “as polite as I’ve been, the time for talk is over, demanding Rollins come down and fight him right then and there. Rollins continued to antagonize Rhodes, blowing him kisses and laughing at him from the stands.
And ultimately Rollins got under Rhodes’ skin, as was likely the plan. An enraged Rhodes hopped out of the ring, jumped the barricade and attacked Rollins in the stands. The two began throwing punches just inches away from audience members.
Rhodes’ rage then culminated with him throwing Rollins through a barricade. The fight got so heated that multiple referees and WWE officials had to come break it up. Despite the army of individuals trying to stop them, Rollins got freed and went after Rhodes again, leading both to be held back.
It’s yet another incident that proves that the two are hell-bent on destroying one another.
And Hell is where both will soon be going. Well, Hell in a Cell, at least. The two will square off at the WWE Hell in a Cell event this Sunday. Given the pair’s turbulent recent history, and the fact that Hell in a Cell matches have no rules, one can only imagine the carnage in store.
Rollins has had it out for Rhodes ever since Rhodes defeated Rollins at last month's WrestleMania. In the ensuing weeks, Rhodes has continually gotten the better of each confrontation, beating Rollins' pal Kevin Owens, whom he'd handpicked to exact a little vicarious retribution, on April 19. They had a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash where Rhodes won again. Rollins did manage to cheat Rhodes out of his shot for the United States Championship, interfering during Rhodes' bout with current titleholder Theory.
Watch WWE Raw Mondays at 8/7c on USA Network, or you can stream it on Peacock.
