Will Liv Morgan And Alexa Bliss' Budding Friendship Survive Money In The Bank?
Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss teamed up to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match, but they'll meet in the ring as opponents.
Can the friendship between WWE buds Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss survive their upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match, where they'll be competing for a guaranteed title shot?
The two teamed up to beat out Doudrop and Nikki ASH on Monday Night Raw to qualify for the women's Money in the Bank match. It marked the first time that Morgan and Bliss had officially entered the ring as a duo. After their victory, they held hands and celebrated like they’ve been friends forever.
But looks like that friendship will have to be put on ice for the Money in the Bank match, which will see them face off against each other and six other female competitors. On Monday’s Raw Talk, the pair addressed the elephant in the room.
Morgan said “Alexa, as much as I've had so much fun with [sic] teaming with you. So much fun like the best of my life. I kinda like can't be your friend anymore because I'm totally climbing up that ladder and grabbing that briefcase.”
In turn, Bliss said, “There is no friend or fair in fighting. I understand and I do want you to succeed, just not at my expense. So I'm gonna be two-time Money in the Bank briefcase winner and cash in and become RAW Women's Champion."
Both were smiling through the conversation though and it has led some fans to wonder if there could be future team-ups. It's been a busy time for both Superstars. Bliss recently underwent therapy after falling under the spell of the nightmarish "The Fiend" and a creepy doll named Lilly before she could return to Raw earlier this year. Meanwhile, Morgan has been a force to reckon with ever since she departed from The Riott Squad, a villainous trio that disbanded a year ago. This year, Morgan even challenged Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship and came pretty darn close to winning it.
It seems like at least Bliss would consider the idea of partnering up with Morgan again. In an interview with WWE Deutschland prior to Monday's match, she said, “My past has shown that I don't do very well with tag teams. Somehow, I always end up having big problems with my tag team partners. But I think that would be a lot [of] fun to join Liv Morgan, especially since she's so talented.”
Catch the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Saturday, July 2, at 8 ET/5 PT, streaming live on Peacock.
