Suits Spin-Off Pearson Streaming Exclusively on Peacock – What to Know

Finished binging Suits and ready for more high-powered legal action in a bustling city? While all nine seasons of the breakout summer hit have been available to watch on Peacock for a while, the streamer just announced an exciting addition to the Suits streaming family: Pearson, the series' spin-off following the continued exploits of Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) at a new firm in Chicago, is now streaming exclusively on Peacock.

With the addition of Pearson, Peacock is now the only place fans can stream the entire Suits franchise.

Despite being one-third of the show’s central law firm Pearson Specter & Litt, Jessica Pearson actress Gina Torres departed Suits after Season 6. Fans were just as shocked as Jessica's colleagues Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) were in the show to see her step down from the house she'd put so much work into building over the years. But while the narrative reasons for her departure were due to scandal and intrigue, the real-world reason was much simpler.
Torres, who has worked steadily in TV since the early 1990s, simply explained that the shooting schedule was starting to take away from her personal life. She told the New York Times in 2016 that traveling between Toronto where Suits filmed and New York where she lived with her then-husband, Laurence Fishburne, and their daughter, was getting to be too much.
Pearson, created by Aaron Korsh and Daniel Arkin, premiered on USA Network in 2019. It received a backdoor pilot in Suits Season 7, Episode 16, "Good-Bye," in which Harvey agrees to help Jessica out with a sticky situation she's found herself in during her time in Chicago. This results in her agreeing to work as the local mayor's fixer — which comes with its own set of problems.
