Triple H Named Head Of Creative At WWE Ahead Of SummerSlam 2022
The 14-time World Champion is stepping further into the corporate ring at WWE.
Following one of the busiest weeks in WWE history, more blockbuster news has just been announced. Paul Levesque, better known to fans as Triple H, is back and he will be the head of creative.
The announcement comes after some major changes to the WWE corporate landscape, with the biggest change being that the visionary pioneer and CEO of WWE, Vince McMahon, is retiring. Over the past several decades, McMahon was responsible for gathering the nation’s best talent before syndicating a national wrestling promotion rather than keeping federations tied down to local territories.
WWE released this official statement:
"WWE and its Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan as co-Chief Executive Officers. Ms. McMahon has also been appointed Chairwoman of the Board, and Mr. Khan will continue to serve as a member of the Board. These appointments follow Vince McMahon’s retirement announcement on Friday, July 22.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to lead WWE together with our unmatched management team,” said Ms. McMahon and Mr. Khan. “We recognize this is a tremendous opportunity and responsibility, and we look forward to serving the WWE Universe."
"Additionally, WWE executive Paul Levesque will assume all responsibilities related to WWE’s creative, in addition to his regular duties."
So far, fan reaction to the news of Triple H being in charge of the creative team has been incredibly positive. This will be the biggest position Triple H has held within the company. In addition to his creative role, Levesque was also named the new head of talent relations.
Triple H is a 14-time World Champion and widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. After marrying into the McMahon family in 2003 — his wife, Stephanie McMahon, recently underwent a leave of absence but has since returned — Triple H became WWE’s Chief Operating Officer and was in charge of NXT. He is also a former Royal Rumble winner, King of the Ring, Intercontinental Champion, Tag Team Champion, and more. Over the course of his 30-plus-year career, Triple H has earned the respect and trust of WWE’s top officials to work both top matches, and in corporate roles.
These changes to the WWE come ahead of SummerSlam, which you can stream on Peacock this Saturday, July 30 starting at 7 p.m. ET.
