'Who's Your Daddy?': Theory's Latest Triumph Reminds Us Why He's Mr. Money In The Bank
Mr. Money in the Bank is one of WWE’s fastest rising and youngest stars, so when he wasn’t seen for two weeks, his absence was really felt by fans.
Since his shocking loss to Pat McAfee at SummerSlam, Theory has been absent from WWE programming. Mr. Money in the Bank is one of WWE’s fastest rising and youngest stars, so when he wasn’t seen for two weeks, his absence was really felt by fans.
Although Theory is the Money in the Bank briefcase holder, he has not had an impressive track record since winning: He suffered two losses to Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship, a loss to AJ Styles on RAW, and one to Drew McIntyre as well. In addition, his mentor, Vince McMahon, retired, leaving Theory seemingly clueless about navigating the main roster on his own.
However, at the WrestleMania 39 launch party, which took place last night at SoFi Stadium, Theory made a triumphant return against Ricochet and reminded everyone why he’s one of WWE’s hottest and most credible Superstars.
In the first part of the match, Theory tried to use his strength to slow down the pace and ground Ricochet. He succeeded at first, but Ricochet was eventually able to regain an early lead. He landed flips, drop kicks, head scissors, and everything else fans wanted to see Ricochet perform. Just when it looked like Ricochet’s calculated fury would be too much for Theory to overcome, the former bodybuilder found an opening and took advantage by cutting off Ricochet.
Ricochet was unable to get out of the gate after that as Theory broke down the high-flier with strikes and bodyslams. With the crowd chanting “Who’s your daddy?” at him, Theory hit Ricochet with his patented A-Town Down finisher to pick up a huge victory in his return.
Theory would clap back at the WWE Universe saying, “I’m your daddy!” before leaving the ring. This was a big win for Theory as he not only returned to WWE, but got himself back in the win column with this victory.
Even as Mr. Money in the Bank, Theory has a steep task ahead of him as he must cash in on Roman Reigns at this point. WWE is seemingly trying to prepare Theory for this impossible moment though, as he remains one of WWE’s most used superstars over the last year.
