The Miz Talks WWE Career, Crushing Logan Paul & 'Miz & Mrs' Season 3 On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Ahead of the premiere of Season 3 of his USA Network reality show “Miz & Mrs,” WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin went on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to delight the audience with stories about his life as a family man and one of sports entertainment’s most successful figures. 

Immediately The Miz impressed the longtime late-night host with his ability to hype the crowd, which he chalked up to his 18 years as a Superstar with the WWE. 

The duo wasted no time discussing the return of “Miz & Mrs,” specifically, the early days when he and his wife, Maryse, thought it would be a good idea for their respective mothers to live with them. 

“I thought it was a good idea. I did, I really thought it was a good idea,” The Miz explained. “Think about it: I have a 4-year-old and 2-and-a-half-year-old. Madison and Monroe, they’re the keys to my heart. They’d be with their grandmothers all the time, how great would that be?“

However, as “Miz & Mrs” fans know, that didn’t last long. He explained one of the catalysts for their decision to get the mothers places of their own happened when the kids were out of the house one day. 

“[Marjolaine], my wife’s mother, took the kids out and I was like, ‘Oh wow, this might be a good time to have a little adult time with my wife.,’” he explained. “So, we went upstairs and we were… how do you say, 'mid-conversation'? And I hear a knock on the door.

The Miz recognized the knock as his mother’s. He also knew that his mother is one of those people who knock while opening the door already. 

“Luckily, there’s a wall and I was like, ‘Ma, no! Ma, ma, ma no!” he said. 

Although he was saved from the embarrassment of his mom seeing the sight of him "conversing" with his wife, she’s not an idiot and knew what was happening behind that wall. His theory was confirmed when Marjolaine came home and started telling him that what happened was “perfectly natural.”

“First off, No! I don’t need the birds and the bees from you. I’m a 40-year-old man! Second, why is my mom telling other people what happened?!” The Miz told Kimmel. “I was like, ‘Alright, I love you guys, but we need to get you out of the house.’ So now they’re close enough but not that close.” 

The Miz also discussed his time in the WWE, including the brief period in which he was kicked out of the locker room and had to change in broom closets and use the public bathrooms all while hiding from fans. He also talked about his recent decision to turn on social media hotshot Logan Paul in the ring. 

“Logan Paul has a huge fanbase, people that love him,” The Miz explained. “But he also has people that want to see his face hit the mat, and I am a person that… I give people what they want. I create moments that last a lifetime.” 

He noted he was kind of surprised that putting down Logan actually won him some affection from the audience. 

“It’s very difficult to make me a good guy,” he concluded. “I have been a bad guy for 18 years in WWE. I am booed out of the building, I am chanted ‘you suck’ [at] all the time, but when Logan Paul came in and I hit that skull-crushing finale, people celebrated.”
