Suits Stars Gabriel Macht, Patrick J Adams Reunite to Talk About L.A. Spinoff
The stars of Suits reunite and give their thoughts on the upcoming spinoff, Suits L.A.
In 2023, fans rediscovered their love for Suits thanks to streaming platforms like Peacock. An astronomical, record-breaking number of people by any metric, but it goes to show the power of quality TV. Now, the show is not only getting a spinoff, but some of its key stars are returning to our TV screens in new and interesting ways.
Suits was considered by many as an unheralded classic during its original run on USA Network from 2011 to 2019, and by 2024, the series' staying power had made it into a cultural phenomenon – so much that a spinoff titled Suits: L.A. was recently announced, sending fans into a frenzy.
Suits Stars Reunite During Super Bowl Commercial Filming
Although they haven't officially joined each other on screen since the finale of Suits in 2019, eagle-eyed viewers certainly caught stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J Adams during a memorable T-Mobile ad that aired during the 2024 Super Bowl. Any reason to see both actors in the same place is cause for celebration, especially in lieu of the recent spinoff news. While the commercial itself was memorable, what happened behind the scenes piqued our interest! The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Gabriel and Patrick during the commercial's filming and asked them for their thoughts about the upcoming Suits spinoff. In yet another compelling piece of speculation, Macht point-blank told THR that their iconic characters could pop up in Suits: L.A.

"I mean, I think it's in a world where some characters could, in fact, come [back]," he confessed before Adams added, "The Suits-iverse, as it's referred to."
To say that fans are clamoring for their favorite characters to return to the "Suits-iverse" is an understatement. Recently, NBC Insider shone a spotlight on original cast members Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty, who also threw their names into the hat in terms of coming back for the spinoff. Coincidentally, the women were also filming a Super Bowl ad that ran during. (Funny how things work out, huh?). Not to mention their memorable resurgence at the 2024 Golden Globes.
Has the Original Cast Been Asked to Reprise Their Characters?
Of course, whenever cameras are pointed at Gabriel Macht and Patrick J Adams these days, one particular question can't be left unsaid: Has anybody reached out to them about reprising their roles of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross, respectively, in the new series?
The short answer?
No – not yet. (That's OK; seeing as how Suits: L.A. was only officially announced a few weeks ago, we think there's plenty of time for these important phone calls to be made.)
"I have yet to be asked – it sounds like it's a spinoff where they're really building a new world with new characters and a whole new story," said Adams. "I've spoken to [series creator Aaron Korsh], have you spoken to Adam?"
"I haven't spoken to Aaron," admitted Macht. "I've gotten a couple texts from him. He's early in the process of casting."
What Advice Does the Original Suits Cast Have For the New Cast?
Casting for such a highly-anticipated series is an intense undertaking. Adams and Macht not knowing where they stand in the spinoff is understandable, if not disappointing, for diehard fans. Nevertheless, despite their roles in the upcoming spinoff unclear at the moment, the stars gave whoever is destined to star in Suits: L.A. some invaluable advice.
"Wear comfortable shoes," Adams revealed, inadvertently giving a tip that can easily be applied to any scenario in life.
Seemingly unimpressed by his costar's straightforward advice to the future cast, Macht got straight-up weird with his wisdom:
"If they can get their hands on a digital device where they can take the dialogue and download it to a little chip and stick it in their head, it might be a lot easier for them to say the words every day," he deadpanned.
Hey, with the way technology is advancing at such a rapid pace, Macht might be onto something here!
Ultimately, Adams let the future Suits: L.A. cast know they're in for a treat as soon as the show begins production.
"It's a marathon, not a sprint – and you're going to have a ball because Aaron's a great writer, and they're good people to make a show with," he said.
So there you have it.
Another day, another Super Bowl commercial, and agonizingly, there is no more clarity on whether your favorite characters from Suits will be reprising their roles in the upcoming spinoff!
That's just fine by us – we'll take every opportunity to catch up with arguably the most memorable cast in streaming history.
