What if your most horrifying nightmares became a reality? Well, let us introduce you to the series that makes it possible: Scare Tactics

How to Watch

Watch Scare Tactics Fridays at 10/9c on USA Network and next day on Peacock.

The new USA Network prank series takes normal, unsuspecting people on a journey they’ll never forget. Without their knowledge, someone's close friend or family member sets them up to be elaborately tricked for their screams and genuine fear to be displayed for millions of viewers.

It’s a remake of the iconic 2000s series of the same name. Expect this time around, Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions are at the helm and cranking the horror elements up a notch.

From creepy clowns to "human" food to celebrity guests, you can expect the unexpected from each and every prank. Including, this one from the October 4 premiere episode.

A demon baby is born in the Scare Tactics premiere

For the prank in the above preview, Tar has decided to invite his daredevil friend Chad out for a hike. Unbeknownst to Chad, they are not going to spend a pleasant day outdoors.

Along the way, an officiant stops them and asks if they could be witnesses to a wedding that is about to begin. No one came to support the happy couple, and they urgently need someone to see them off, since the bride is nine months pregnant.

“If they aren’t married before this baby is born, the consequences could be catastrophic,” the officiant warns.

Despite the off-putting first impression, Chad and Tar enter the pavilion and meet the couple. All is well — until the almost newlyweds begin repeating after the officiant, chanting creepy words that quickly make Chad uneasy.

“I gotta Google translate what they’re saying,” Chad says while reaching around for his phone.

Before he gets the chance, he and Tar get called up onto the platform with the wedding party to read blessings that have been written on cards. Tar recites a simple message in English, but Chad’s card is written in the same mysterious language he doesn’t know, fueling his nerves even more.

When it’s the bride’s time to relay her vows, that's when the event changes gears, for better or for worse (depending on what side of the prank you're on). She begins to appear to have severe contractions and is rushed to the corner of the room to begin delivering the baby.

“Y’all need to call the police,” Chad warns, standing up in concern. The bride continues to scream at the top of her lungs, giving the illusion that the baby is coming any second.

And suddenly, a possessed, horned baby shoots out from underneath her dress and begins to charge straight for the two guests.

Chad takes off at lightning speed and rushes straight to the truck they arrived in. A producer calls out to let him know “You’re on Scare Tactics!” — and that’s what makes him stop in his tracks.

After catching his breath, Chad joins the now-visible television crew and his friend Tar, who he left behind to make a run for it.

“Yeah, that was a good one,” he admits. He ends up shaking the hands of the "demon baby" himself, who, much to his relief, was just a trained actor.

New episodes of Scare Tactics premiere every Friday night at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network.
