Royal Rumble 2024: How to Watch and What to Expect
Here's everything fans need to know about WWE Royal Rumble 2024!
With 2023 drawing to a close, one unforgettable year of WWE action is ending and a new era is about to begin.
The next Premium Live Event on the WWE calendar is Royal Rumble 2024, and the WWE Universe should rightfully be excited – in many fans' eyes, it's the WWE event of the year, with many viewing it as an event higher in importance than WrestleMania. Here's everything you need to know about Royal Rumble 2024.
Where and When Will Royal Rumble 2024 Take Place?
The 2024 edition of the event marks the 37th time the Royal Rumble has taken place, and this year's event will return to a place with significant event history: Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida!
Of course, Tropicana Field hosted the 2021 Royal Rumble – the same event that saw Bianca Belair and Edge win their respective Rumble matches from very early entry positions.

Although a precise time for the Royal Rumble has not yet been confirmed, past Premium Live Events have kicked off at 8 p.m. ET. The event will be held on Saturday, January 27, and there is typically a one-hour Kickoff Show preceding the event itself. Trust us, there's nothing like a Saturday night filled with explosive WWE action – we can't wait!
How Can Fans Watch Royal Rumble 2024?
For all fans in the United States, there's only one way to catch the 2024 edition of WWE's Royal Rumble: By tuning into Peacock! For years, Peacock has been the home to every WWE Premium Live Event – including WrestleMania.
If you've been on the fence about subscribing to Peacock, now's the perfect time to do so. There's arguably no better time to jump head-first into the world of WWE than Royal Rumble season! Every dramatic Royal Rumble elimination, surprise entrance, and heart-pounding drama can be found live on January 27, only on Peacock.
What Can Fans Expect From Royal Rumble 2024?
The annual Royal Rumble event serves as the launching point for the Road to WrestleMania, kicking off (and continuing) the best feuds and storylines across Raw and SmackDown. While WWE doesn't have an "off-season" like other sports, savvy members of the WWE Universe have known for years that, for lapsed fans, the Royal Rumble is the best way to kickstart your WWE fandom again! It's also the best way to turn your friends into lifelong fans. The annual Royal Rumble event is a great jumping-off point for being introduced to what WWE is all about.
As far as what the WWE Universe should expect from the 2024 edition of the Royal Rumble, well, if last year's event is any indication, we should all expect fireworks:
There are a dizzying number of storylines to keep track of these days in WWE, and the Royal Rumble will serve as the stage to see all of them play out in real time! The respective fields for the men's and women's over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble matches are as wide open as they've ever been. On the men's side, CM Punk – who recently made his shocking return to WWE after nearly a decade-long absence – intends to win the Royal Rumble and go on to main event WrestleMania. However, Cody Rhodes is looking for his second Royal Rumble win in as many years as he once again attempts to "finish the story" and finally win a WWE world championship.
While those two Superstars may seem like the runaway favorites to win the Rumble, there will be 28 other men competing for the chance to main event WrestleMania – and as we all know, there's bound to be some surprises that may leapfrog the rest of the roster!
Over in the women's division, 30 WWE Superstars will compete to see who will face either IYO SKY or Rhea Ripley for their respective championships. The eventual women's Rumble winner seems destined for a clash with Rhea. After all, Mami has been dominant during her nearly year-long title reign that began last year at WrestleMania (just like Rhea predicted).
But that's not all.
Arguably, the most significant storyline in WWE history – The Bloodline saga – is still going strong, with Roman Reigns still having a stranglehold over the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. We have no idea where this epic story is going next, but it's a safe bet that Royal Rumble 2024 will feature many twists and turns related to it.
You can tune in to Peacock to watch WWE's Royal Rumble on January 27. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock.
