Ronda Rousey Teases New Outfit Inspired By Iconic Rowdy Roddy Piper Movie
Ronda Rousey plans on channeling the John Carpenter film "They Live" in her future wardrobe.
Ronda Rousey’s “Rowdy” moniker is no mistake – it’s a deliberate tribute to the man who inspired her to be a wrestler, Rowdy Roddy Piper. When the former UFC Bantamweight Champion debuted in WWE in 2018, it was Piper’s son who gifted Rousey his authentic jacket that she proudly sports on her way to the ring. With that being said, The Baddest Woman on the Planet shared on the latest episode of her YouTube gaming channel that she is planning on altering her iconic outfit for a tribute to Piper.
Last month on SmackDown, Ronda Rousey returned from her indefinite suspension after attacking WWE officials, and paid her fines by dumping a bag of cash out on the table and demanding a rematch for her Women’s Title. The outfit she was wearing, a black top with black tights, is the same outfit she talked about changing for her Piper tribute.

"I want to do all the subliminal messaging from John Carpenter's 'They Live,' but everything's black on black except for [the word] 'submit' is in white. But I'm going to not use my regular shorts and top, I'm going to take the tights and the top that I was wearing that day I dumped all the money out. I'm going to cut those tights into shorts and see how they look as shorts, so hopefully, they don't suck."
While “They Live”, the 1988 film which starred Piper in the main role of a drifter who comes across a pair of special sunglasses that allow him to see the world is secretly being controlled by aliens posing as humans, will play a major part of Rousey’s homage, the former Olympian also told fans that her tribute will simultaneously represent her amateur wrestling background and submission technique. Rousey is scheduled to appear on tonight’s go-home episode of SmackDown and will challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship tomorrow at Extreme Rules in a No Disqualifications match.
