'Thank You For Being Must-See': The Miz Honors Rey Mysterio In Celebration Of 20 Years With The WWE
Rey Mysterio is celebrating a big WWE accolade — and even The Miz is recognizing the occasion.
Mike “The Miz” Mizanin has feuded with Rey Mysterio for years. However, he managed to put their feud aside for a brief video message in which he honored the Master of the 619 in celebration of his 20th anniversary with the WWE.
On Monday, Mysterio will celebrate his 20th year with the company on RAW after making his debut in 2002 on SmackDown. To mark the occasion, Mysterio appeared with Dominik as guests of honor on the franchise’s talk show “The Bump,” where they discussed all things WWE.
Part of his time on the show included getting personalized messages from new WWE recruit Logan Paul, Kevin Owens, and, of course, The Miz.
“20 years of Rey Mysterio!” The Miz says seemingly putting aside his character for the moment. “Let me just say, Rey, every time I have stepped in the ring, every time I was on that middle rope, I couldn't help but be very excited knowing that I was going to get a 619 with a West Coast pop.”
He continued: “You are truly one of a kind and to watch what you have done in your career and not only with your career but also to watch Dom [Dominik Mysterio] follow in your footsteps is so incredible, so amazing."
The Miz, who was filming from what appeared to be backstage at a WWE venue, concluded his message for his fellow Superstar by commending him on both his career as well as his personal life.
"You're not only an amazing luchador, and an amazing WWE Superstar, but you're an incredible father and just an amazingly awesome human being,” he said. “It's been an honor to share the ring with you. Thank you for being must-see and thank you for always being awesome."
After the video played, Mysterio, who has had some of his most gritty bouts in the ring to date with The Miz, noted that it’s hard to think about all that in a moment like this.
“Wow, how can you hate him, right?” he said through laughter.
It’s unclear if this means the hatched is fully buried between The Miz and Rey Mysterio. However, it does seem that the “Miz & Mrs” star currently has his sights set on a new WWE rival — the man he betrayed so spectacularly at WrestleMania this year, Logan Paul. After some back-and-forth, the two will now go head-to-head at SummerSlam.
