With Worlds Collide Around the Corner, Will Superstars Tangle Ahead Of Schedule?
Another Tuesday, another can’t-miss episode of NXT 2.0!
With Worlds Collide a mere five days away — an event that will see major championships unified and new undisputed champions crowned — you would think that NXT 2.0 would present a show that would allow the WWE Universe to catch their breath a little.
Not a chance.
With another packed lineup of matches announced already, the last show before Worlds Collide promises to be arguably as intriguing and impactful as Sunday’s event!
We all are aware of the two big main events taking place at Worlds Collide, but the big story going into tonight’s episode is what kind of fireworks will take place between the competitors. Last week’s episode ended with all five athletes signing their contracts for their respective matches — and it ended about as amicably as a contract signing could end!
For maybe the first time in wrestling history, no punches were thrown and no tables were broken — we have to hand it to these athletes, they showed self-restraint the WWE Universe hasn’t seen in a very long time.
However, we’re willing to bet that the bad blood will spill over into tonight’s episode, and we’d be absolutely shocked if all professionalism doesn’t go out the window!
Mandy Rose needs to find an upper hand ahead of her Triple Threat match against Blaire Davenport and NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura. Mandy has held the NXT Women’s title for well over 300 days now — and she didn’t get that far from resting on her laurels. We have to think that tonight’s episode will get just a little bit “Toxic” in favor of the champ!
It’s just a matter of how.
Over on the men’s side, with Bron Breakker and Tyler Bate scheduled for an epic matchup that will see the NXT and NXT UK Championships unified, the carnage is nearly guaranteed. Breakker has never been in the ring with somebody like Bate, whose technical skill and athleticism are unmatched. On the other hand, Tyler Bate has been busy in the talent pool of NXT UK where there is absolutely nobody who possesses the overwhelming physical prowess that Bron Breakker has.
With both men wanting to be crowned the Undisputed NXT Champion, you have to think they’ll cross paths at some point tonight. It’s a moment nobody will want to miss!
There’s also been a few big-time matches that have been announced, including the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions being in action for the first time since winning the titles earlier this month!
Katana Chance & Kayden Carter are slated to collide with Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley tonight. Although it’s being reported that the tag titles will not be on the line in this matchup, nevertheless it will be exciting to see the champions back in the ring for the first time in nearly a month — and going against an up-and-coming team in the process! Will the champs steamroll through Ivy and Tatum or will there be a bit of a championship hangover that they’ll have to deal with?
In addition, the Gallus Boys will take on the Diamond Mine in a huge six-man tag match. Remember, the last time we saw these athletes, the Gallus Boys laid waste to Diamond Mine, laying every last member out.
The best part about this match — other than the unworldly amount of talent that will be in the ring competing — is the fact that it will serve as an official preview for Worlds Collide!
The WWE Universe won’t have to wait until Sunday to see the biggest stars of the United States and United Kingdom collide in an NXT ring — because it’s happening tonight!
It’ll be an exciting night in the world of NXT, that’s for certain. And hey, who knows, maybe Dexter Lumis will make another cameo and sweep Indi Hartwell off her feet again.
We can hope, can’t we?
Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network for the last stop on the road to Worlds Collide!
