Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie Nominated for 2024 Emmy: What to Know
It turns out Monk isn't done earning Emmy Awards nominations.
Any fan of Monk will tell you that his triumphant return in the Peacock original reunion movie Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie was a smashing success. However, now it’s a little more bonafide thanks to an Emmy nomination.
On Wednesday, it was announced that, among the many NBCUniversal properties recognized by the Television Academy in 2024, Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie was nominated in the Outstanding Television Movie category for 2024. The Peacock original movie was on everyone’s mind when it came out in December 2023, reuniting the original cast and bringing legendary actor Tony Shalhoub back to one of his most iconic roles for a post-pandemic adventure for the ages.

The movie is in direct competition for an Emmy win with fellow nominees Quiz Lady, Red, White & Royal Blue, Scoop, and Unfrosted.
What is Mr. Monk’s Last Case About?
For those unfamiliar, the new movie reunites the old gang from Monk in the present day for one more (not necessarily final) adventure that’s very near and dear to Monk’s heart.
When Monk's stepdaughter, Molly, finds herself at the heart of a murder mystery with one of her loved ones as the victim, she naturally turns to Monk to help her solve the case and take on a potentially monumental conspiracy backing the entire thing. To help, he had to rely on his old friends like Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine), Randy Disher (Jason Gray-Standord), and Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard). There are also a handful of new characters joining the group as well. As for whether or not they’re allies or villains, that's up in the air. Curious fans will simply have to watch Mr. Monk’s Last Case to find out.
