Is Rob Getting Back Together with Andrea after Love Island USA Season 6?
A controversial Love Island USA couple may not be reuniting on the outside after all.
Rob Rausch and Andrea Carmona found an instantaneous connection in Season 6 of Love Island USA, but now that the show is over, will that spark continue in the real world?
No one could forget the bombshell’s dramatic exit when the ladies voted her off to essentially save JaNa Craig, who hadn’t found love yet. Andrea broke down sobbing, and Rob erupted in outrage over the decision, rolling his eyes and throwing up his hands in total frustration. Then he made a shocking declaration: he (and his overalls) would leave the island right then and there to be with Andrea.

He “100 percent” regrets that statement now, chalking it up to feeling “emotional” at that moment. In a candid interview with podcast host Alex Cooper, Rob opened up about his true feelings now that the island’s “tunnel vision” has worn off and he’s back in the real world. Though genuinely drawn to Andrea, he’s decidedly less smitten with her social media activity since she left the island. On the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, he seemed shocked that Andrea had so much to say about their whirlwind connection — and so much confidence in their future together.
Love Island USA's Rob Rausch talks Andrea Carmona Romance
“It was an amazing four days. I was smitten,” Rob admitted (via Us Weekly). “I was having a great time, and you can tell. I like talking to her, and I love the way she talked about her family, and it just felt really romantic.”
Though the two are in touch, it seems clear that love is not in the cards.
“I’ve been talking to her a little bit, but it is probably better if we just keep our distance for now,” Rob revealed. “A lot has happened, and she’s been posting a lot. I was kind of like, ‘Oh, that’s a lot of things to post about [us],’ it sounds really bad.”
Rob texted Andrea first — before he noticed her social media activity — to check up on her, but he also admitted to doing so out of guilt. He wanted to explain why he didn’t leave the Island after he told her he would.
“At this point, I hadn’t looked at anything online,” he explained. “And I was just like, ‘How are you doing? I was thinking about you a lot, like blah, blah.’ I knew once she left, she didn’t know what happened. And I think it was made to look like she left, and I was like, ‘I’m leaving,’ [and] then I didn’t give a f–k. That was not the case. I was like, ‘You can ask any person in there. I was so f–ked.’"
"For that week after that, it was tough. I did get better, and I got over it toward the end. I let her know and all that because I felt guilty. At times, I was like, ‘I should have just left. I’m such a bitch.’"
Rob regrets saying he would leave the villa with Andrea
“I wish I wouldn’t have said it, but in that moment … I was set on leaving. And for a while after that, I was set on leaving even the next day,” he explained, noting that in the villa, “a week is a like a month,” and time just feels different there.
“It seriously feels like you’ve known them forever because … at any opportunity you can, you have to talk about how you feel about everything. You’re immediately talking about how many kids you want," he explained.
Apparently, “Island time” moves extremely fast when it comes to love. After Andrea’s departure, Rob nearly reignited the flame with Leah Taylor, courted Daniela Ortiz Rivera (his pal Aaron Evans’ Casa Amor sweetie), and hooked up with Kassy Castillo.
He reflected on his entanglements during the podcast: “I told myself that I was going to get to know every girl and figure out my best match, no matter how much I like the girl I’m with.”
While he still admires Andrea from afar, her penchant for posting is “a lot” to process. We texted a little bit, but I did start to see all the stuff that she was doing, and that’s something that I did not see coming from her,” he said. “She just seemed very no drama in the villa. I just was really kind of set back by that.”
