Where Is The Cast From 'Love Island' Season 1 Today?
When Liv arrived in the villa from Sydney, Australia on day two as the first bombshell of Season 6, she spent little time creating drama by chasing Rob Rausch, who was then paired with Leah Kateb. During her time in Fiji, she connected with Rob, Hakeem White, Miguel Harichi, Nigel Okafor, and Caine Bacon. However, not one of these relationships lasted.
Liv became a fan-favorite among audience members, known for her unfailing encouragement of her friends, quick humor, and unflinching honesty. In an interview with USA Insider, the reality star addresses pressing questions about her time in the villa and shared her candid thoughts on the dynamics in the villa headed to the finale (and yes, she talked about Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans' rocky relationship).
How does Liv Feel About her Love Island USA Season 6 Elimination?
Stepping out of the Love Island USA villa and back into the real world, Liv reflects on her transition with nostalgia and anticipation. "I’m doing really well," Liv shared.
"I was a bit upset obviously the first couple days out because none of my turns. I was extremely grateful. But leaving my friends and not waking up in a beautiful villa in Fiji is definitely something to get used to again. However, I’m happy to be home, seeing everyone, and feeling all the love. I cannot wait to turn on the TV when it’s time for a new episode," she added. "I feel like they’re like my little Sims."
Liv, known as the "girls' girl" of the season, expresses a positive outlook on her relationships post-Love Island USA, affirming, “100 percent I feel like I did leave on a good note. I had some points where I felt like some people’s feelings were different towards me, but I feel like I left at a time when we were all super close and strong. I love them all."
Liv Added: "I don’t have any regrets. I feel like I’m someone who can’t fake it, and it might have seemed like I was cycling through a lot of couples. But the environment inside is vastly different from the outside world. It's intense and immersive—you’re watching and living through the dynamics firsthand. It's a unique experience where you witness your former partners coupling up with others, sharing intimate moments that aren't visible to those outside."
Liv Opens Up About her Fights With Leah Kateb
The cast met for Movie Night, which featured highlights from the season thus far. One especially important piece of footage showed the aftermath of Andrea's elimination earlier in the season, which caused a heated argument between Leah and Liv (not their first on the subject, either). While watching the video, they saw each other's comments regarding the event, which sparked an argument. Leah confronted Liv, demanding she clarify how she had been "heavily swaying" the outcome. Liv fiercely stood by herself, ending in a yelling confrontation between the two.
Despite the occasional heated moments, Liv and Leah managed to maintain a strong bond. Their friendship, characterized by mutual respect and understanding, has endured the villa’s ups and downs.
"I have so much love for Leah especially. We are very much the same person. We say we’re evil twin sisters. We fight, and we get caught up in the moment, but then after we have too much love for each other, we just go, ‘I don’t know what I was thinking' — 'I don’t know what I was thinking either,’ and we just move on," Liv explained. "If she says it straight up and honestly, I love someone like that. She doesn’t beat around the bush rather than this telephone business happening. She’s a great girl."
For Liv, backing up her fellow female islanders was crucial to her time in the villa. She was always there to lend a supportive hand or a comforting word.
“Everyone is probably like, ‘What the hell with this girl?!’ I am someone who loves standing up for my friends," she said. "I don’t like my friends being hurt, I’ve been hurt in the past and I’ve seen how it feels. So, any opportunity where I feel like my friends are being mistreated and they want me to stand up, I’ll do it.
“In terms of passionate fighting, I am a very passionate person, and I feel like some people’s passion is crying. Other people’s passion is standing up for themselves. We’re all a big family and we all have each other’s support at the end of the day, so we would get over it quickly and we would hash it out and be like ‘this is how I felt’”
Liv's Reveals Her Real thoughts on Kaylor and Aaron
Liv's strongest bond in the villa was obviously with Kaylor, her best friend who found herself on a sinking ship of drama with Aaron after his sneaky behavior in Casa Amor came to light. Reflecting on their friendship, Liv does not hold back on expressing her admiration for Kaylor.
“I love her. She is so incredible. Everyone should have a friend like Kaylor," Live said. "I know she cries a lot, but it’s stressful, and she wears her heart on her sleeve. She deserves the best. I haven’t seen any episodes. I have seen some things about Aaron, but he’s a lovely guy, and I think he cares about her.”
During the notorious Casa Amor twist, Aaron was caught tangled up with Daniela, which caused significant tension upon his return. His behavior hurt Kaylor, creating a rift in their relationship and leading to a wave of drama that engulfed both them and the entire villa. However, they've since mended fences and Liv remains optimistic about Aaron's intentions.
“It’s so hard when you guys see a lot that I don’t see, and I see a lot that you don’t see, and I think he cares about her a lot. It just makes me question the way he goes about some things," she revealed. "But she knows what she wants, she knows what she brings to the table, and she’s a smart enough girl to decide on her own feelings, but… It’s so tricky, that one. Coming out of reading stuff, I’m like, “No!”
Does Liv Think She Has Unfinished Business with Rob?
Unfinished business lingered between Liv and Rob in the Love Island USA villa, as the two seemed to bond over a budding friendship and potential chemistry just before he left for Casa Amor. Their connection, however, faced a pivotal moment when Rob had to choose between her and Daniela at what ultimately became Liv's elimination. Sadly, he picked Daniela, leaving any potential connection with Liv unexplored.
“I definitely think I have a lot of love for Rob. He’s very funny, great personality. We did have a different start; we weren’t ourselves.” Liv said. “If he did pick me, I’d get to know him, but we were just friends. I had a lot of love for him, and he had a lot of love for me, but going into the forecast, I feel like we were both just single and like, you don’t just lose feelings that easily, but we both just found each other attractive, and we were like ‘OK we’re both single, let’s see.’ Then Casa happened and… yeah, just friends there.”
Liv admits she would have been taken by surprise if Rob had chosen her to stay in the villa.
"I would have been like, ‘I was not expecting that.’ You guys saw when Miguel chose me, and I was like, ‘What? Not me!’ That was my first reaction, and then I’d have been like, ‘Why? I thought you had something strong with Daniela!’ I’m grateful and happy, but I would just want to see where his headspace is because I’m very much like, ‘Tell it to me straight up,’ and he does that. You can tell if he doesn’t like you. But no hard feelings."
Liv Reveals The One Person She Wished She'd Coupled With
Liv's time in the villa was filled with connections, but there’s one Islander she wishes she had the chance to know better outside of the show: Connor Newsum.
“People do ask me, ‘If you had to choose an Islander, who would it be?’ and I have so much love for Connor, and I never got to know him on a romantic level," Liv revealed. "I don’t think we ever had a chat like that, but I do think he’s a good friend of mine so, if I had to pick, that would be my only regret, maybe not having at the very beginning when he first came in… I wouldn’t want one at the end because we were all like brother and sister and now it’s a bit weird, but maybe at the start, that would be one thing I might change.”
Another potential connection Liv wonders about is Harrison Luna, a bombshell who arrived just an episode after her departure. Liv feels they might have had a unique bond and shared understanding as a fellow Australian.
“They did me dirty by kicking me out! I have no hard feelings about Love Island USA, but they kicked me out before the Australian came in?! Come on!” she joked. "I was like… come on, guys. It’s the name of the game. You never know when someone will come in, and it’s just what happens, but… I think he and Sierra look so cute together. I’m rooting for them, and I’m rooting for everyone.”
Winning Love Island USA isn't just about the title or the prize money—it's about the genuine connections formed amidst the challenges of the villa. For Liv, seeing the couples navigate through intense emotional and personal hurdles validates their authenticity. She believes that enduring the ups and downs together strengthens their bonds, making the eventual winners deserving of their success.
“I feel like all the couples in the end now have been through hell and back so they’re definitely not to my belief faking it, although I don’t think anyone was faking it. I don’t know about Rob and Daniela; I think I’m going to go with Serena and Kordell.”
