'Life In The Fast Lane' Star Paul Swan Challenges The Miz To A WWE Match
"Life In The Fast Lane" star Paul Swan wants to put his physical prowess to the test by taking on The Miz in the WWE ring.
A lot of “Austin Dillon’s Life In The Fast Lane” sees the NASCAR driver’s tire carrier, Paul Swan, condition his body to be that of a top-tier athlete. Now, he’s hoping his athleticism will take him all the way to the WWE ring to face off against one of USA Network’s other stars: The Miz.
In June, Paul and his wife Mariel joined the USA Network family alongside “Miz & Mrs” when their reality TV series premiered. Since then, WWE has been on Paul’s mind. Speaking to USA Insider, he was asked if he’d ever step into the ring and square off with any Superstars and he lit up at the idea.
“Oh my God, a hundred percent!” Paul said. “I feel like I was born to be on WWE.”
He continued: “With the energy I bring? I grew up a WWF fan in the Attitude Era in the 1990s, 2000s, you know? Stone Cold and The Rock. I mean, me and my brother grew up the biggest wrestling fans ever.”
That’s when Paul got an idea and issued a direct challenge to Mike “The Miz” Mizanin.
“I think a match between me and Miz would be a freaking box office hit!” he said. “Hey, I challenge … I gave him a challenge, so we'll see if Miz has a response to it.”
Although The Miz is no stranger to collecting enemies, he currently has his hands full right now in a feud with new WWE Superstar Logan Paul, who delivered a devastating victory over him at SummerSlam 2022. However, Paul is undeterred and even hopes to get their respective wives in on it.
“Maybe a match between me and Mariel and Miz and [Maryse]? It would be an absolute brawl, baby! I would love it,” he said excitedly.
Before anyone thinks Paul was writing checks his wife would have to cash, Mariel notes she too is a wrestling fan and would quickly accept an invitation into the WWE ring.
“Heck yeah, I so would,” she said. “It's so funny because I grew up a huge wrestling fan as well. Like, my dad's mother, that was her thing every single Thursday night. She would watch her wrestling and it's even crazy, like, bless her soul, she actually passed away watching a wrestling match. Yeah … I would definitely do it.”
While the Swans are down to go toe-to-toe in the ring at any time, they’ll have to wait and see what The Miz and WWE have to say about his challenge.
“Austin Dillon’s Life In The Fast Lane” airs Thursdays at 9:30/8:30c on USA Network.
