NBA Allstar Dwight Howard Spotted AT WWE Tryouts — Is He Switching Sports?
Could eight-time NBA Allstar Dwight Howard be making a move into wrestling? Let's look at the evidence.
One of the best things about the WWE is that you never know who is going to show up next. From Bad Bunny to Johnny Knoxville, WWE is constantly inviting diverse outside talent to try their hand in the ring. Yesterday was no different when eight-time NBA Allstar Dwight Howard crashed the WWE tryout in Nashville, Tennessee.
ESPN Radio reporter Arash Markazi tweeted a video of the former NBA Champion cutting a heartfelt promo and said Howard is “serious” about joining the WWE and becoming a professional wrestler. Howard “stayed for hours” at the tryout cutting promos, learning how to bump, and meeting other talent including the new head of creative, Triple H, according to Markazi. Howard claimed that if he isn’t playing in the NBA next season, he would make the transition over to wrestling.
Standing at 6’10” and weighing in at 270 pounds of pure muscle, Howard has the look of a professional wrestling superstar, plus his athletic background would help him out in the ring. He's had brushes with it before, too: In 2015, Howard confronted Rusev and Lana at a house show in Houston after they talked trash about the United States, but we’ll have to wait and see if that was the last of Dwight Howard in a WWE ring or if his wrestling career is just getting started.
Howard will be ringside this Saturday at SummerSlam so keep your eyes peeled for the basketball — and possibly future WWE — superstar! Tune into SummerSlam Saturday, July 30 on Peacock to catch all the action.
