They’ve Got 'Exquisite Taste': 'Chucky' Finds Its Glen/Glenda Ahead Of Season 2 Fall Premiere
"Seed of Chucky" characters Glen and Glenda will make their return in "Chucky" Season 2 with Lachlan Watson playing both parts.
Charles Lee Ray's long-lost kids are officially making a return to the franchise in "Chucky" Season 2. Lachlan Watson is joining the cast as Chucky and Tiffany Valentine’s twins, Glen/Glenda.
Watson is a non-binary actor who many may remember from their role in “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.” They’ll join a show that’s already depicted LGBTQ+ youth storylines in Season 1 as one of the many beloved characters returning from the "Child's Play" film series. Franchise creator Don Mancini often highlights the queer community in the "Chucky" universe to reflect his own experience as a gay youth, and the inclusion of Glen/Glenda in Season 2 will further that effort.
First introduced in “Seed of Chucky,” Glen is seen as a sweet, caring doll who abhors violence. His desire to track down his birth parents leads him to reanimate Chucky and Tiffany once again. However, he is shocked at the murderous proclivities that his mom and dad share. Fortunately for fans of the mayhem, the audience soon learns that Glenda, Glen's murderous twin sister, also inhabits their body.
When last viewers saw the twins, Tiffany had used magic to give them each their own human bodies and was raising them as her own kids while inhabiting the body of the real-life actress who plays Tiffany, Jennifer Tilly. Meanwhile, the trio had a spectacularly bloody falling out with Chucky, who seemingly sought vengeance at the end of “Seed of Chucky.”
Tiffany returned in Season 1 but her kids were only mentioned in passing: Once when Chucky explained to our young hero Jake (Zackary Arthur) he has a gender-fluid kid and once when Tiffany explained that Glenda, who has "exquisite taste," had gifted her a fancy bomb
Watson will be joining previously announced newcomers Gina Gershon, Meg Tilly, and Sutton Stracke. They’ll cross paths with returning Season 1 cast members Zackary Arthur, Devon Sawa, Fiona Dourif, Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, and Barbara Alyn Woods.
Season 2 of “Chucky” is currently filming, with Mancini acting as both showrunner and executive producer alongside Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfroe. The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
"Chucky" is scheduled to return to USA Network and SYFY this fall. Meanwhile, the complete first season, which earned 11.6 million viewers across all platforms, is currently available to stream on Peacock.
