Carson Daly Shares His Summertime Playlist – and Blake Shelton Isn't On It!
Carson Daly joined his TODAY co-hosts in sharing his summertime playlist and his Barmageddon co-host didn't make the cut!
Carson Daly spends his time on Barmageddon getting the party started with Blake Shelton, Nikki Garcia, and a slew of celebrity guests. Sadly, the show is between seasons this summer, but that isn’t stopping him from sending out party vibes to his fans through a Spotify playlist.
Carson joined his fellow TODAY hosts in creating a playlist consisting of ten of their favorite songs to throw on with their families to soak up the sun and celebrate the good vibes the summer brings. While his hosts had some decent toe-tappers on their lists, Carson’s years of experience as the face of the pop culture music charts put some high expectations on his choices, and he didn’t disappoint.
What songs are on Carson Daly's summer playlist?
His playlist, which you can listen to on Spotify now, was an eclectic mix of old-school hits like Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice” with newer tunes like “Popular” from The Weeknd, Playboi Carti and Madonna. Here are the full ten songs that the Barmageddon host uses to set the mood in the summer:
“The Seed (2.0)” - The Roots, Cody Chesnutt
“Whitehouse Road” - Tyler Childers
“Gin and Juice” - Snoop Dogg
“Mulberry Street” - Twenty One Pilots
“Hell N Back” - Bakar
“Popular” - The Weeknd, Playboi Carti, Madonna
“Broadway Girls” - Lil Durk, Morgan Wallen
“World on Fire” - Stick Figure, Slightly Stoopid
“Chocolate” - The 1975
“Borderline” - Tame Impala
As mentioned, Daly’s past experience as a radio DJ and host of Total Request Live makes his music choices carry a bit more weight than most. So, we’ll be the first to point out how shocking it is that his best buddy, Shelton, isn’t on the list!
What’s the deal, Carson? It’s not like Blake doesn’t have some summertime bangers. And, if a recent trip to Lake Ozark is any indication, the man knows how to dress for and celebrate the summer. While they do have a bromance for the ages, it seems Daly either thought adding Shelton would be too on the nose or (more likely) thought it might boil his buddy’s blood a bit to not be included and couldn’t resist the roast.
Either way, fans can give the host’s playlist a listen on Spotify and get their August started the way only Carson Daly can — with some great tunes and a subtle, fun jab at Shelton.
