Blake Shelton Headed To 'Barmageddon' Home In Nashville For Grand Ole Opry Performances
The "Barmageddon" and "The Voice" star announced he's headed to the Grand Ole Opry in September for not one, but two shows.
Blake Shelton is returning to the greatest stage in country music: The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
On Monday, Shelton shared a post from The Opry’s page announcing that he’s going to be headlining a show for not one, but two performances on September 10, 2022. The first show will kick off at 7p.m. with another starting right up at 9:30, according to the venue’s website. Shelton will be performing alongside fellow country artists Callista Clark, Kolby Cooper, Natalie Grant, and Todd Tilghman, as well as more artists to be announced closer to the time of the performance.
Shelton was first inducted as a member of the Opry in October of 2010. At the time, he was given the honor by none other than his friend and the man he described as on of his heroes, Trace Adkins. It came nine years after Shelton made his debut at the show in 2001.
“I don’t care if I say it right because I know what this means to me. This is the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me,” he said at the time.
It will be extra special for Shelton to perform in Nashville since it’s the home to two of his illustrious restaurant and music venues, Ole Red. In fact, the primary location will soon play home to Shelton’s new competition series he’s hosting alongside his good buddy Carson Daly and Nikki Bella: “Barmageddon.”
The series will see the country superstar bring celebrities and people from all backgrounds together to compete in high-stakes bar games such as Air Cannon Cornhole, Keg Curling, Drunken Axe Hole, Sharts (“Shelton Darts”), and many more while enjoying themselves and live music at the Nashville hot spot.
Shelton previously described the show as a massive hunt for the world’s greatest “barthletes.”
“Nashville is known for great music and hospitality, which makes it the perfect setting,” he previously said in a press release announcing the show. “I’m excited about ‘Barmageddon’ and can’t wait for friends, old and new, to join my buddy Carson and me for some drinks, music, and high-spirited fun at Ole Red.”
