David Alan Grier portrays Ron in the new NBC comedy "St. Denis Medical."

Grier's television work is highlighted by his turn on the Emmy Award-winning show "In Living Color," where he created and portrayed some of the show's most memorable characters. He also starred in "DAG" and "Life with Bonnie," the latter of which earned him Image Award and Golden Satellite Award nominations.

Other TV roles throughout Grier's extensive career include "Queen Sugar," "A Series of Unfortunate Events," "Chocolate News," "Bad Teacher," "Joe Pickett" and "The Carmichael Show" as well as specials "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Wiz Live!".

On the film side, Grier co-starred in Norman Jewison's "A Soldier's Story," "The Big Sick," "They Cloned Tyrone," "Arizona," "Peeples," the remake of "The Color Purple" and the recently released "The American Society of Magical Negroes."
