Melissa Fumero plays Birdie on the new NBC drama "Grosse Pointe Garden Society."
Fumero is best known for her performance on the critically acclaimed, award-winning series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," in which she co-starred for eight seasons. She is currently co-starring in the Peacock series "Based on a True Story," opposite Kaley Cuoco, and recently added to her voice-acting portfolio in Comedy Central's "Digman!" and Mindy Kaling's "Velma" on HBO Max.
Fumero's career began in 2004 on "One Life to Live." Her previous TV credits include "Gossip Girl," "Royal Pains," "CSI: NY," "The Mentalist" and "Blockbuster."
As an episodic director, Fumero's credits include "Primo," "Not Dead Yet," "Grand Crew," "Gordita Chronicles" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
Fumero was recognized in the Hollywood Reporter's "Young Hispanic Hollywood Class of 2013" and named one of Variety's "10 Latinos to Watch." In 2022, she was awarded the Imagen Foundation Award for Best Supporting Actress - Comedy (Television) for her work on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and their two children.
